LP turns up after 50years

From the 1960s onwards the Beaufort Choir has made a number of recordings. Amongst the earliest was an album called 'With Voices Rejoicing' which was produced on Pye Records and included pieces from Gwahoddiad to Moon River.
In July 2013 a mint copy of the LP turned up in an Oxfam charity shop in Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne! Uniquely the sleeve was signed by most of the choristers!
Recognisind the potential importance of the record, Jan Phillipson, the shop manager,  contacted the choir and offered to forward the album to the choir for inclusion in the growing Beaufort Male Choir archive.

The album is a rare item because so many of the choristers who sang on the recording have added their signatures. It provides a valuable memento of times past - and also shows the healthy benefits of choral singing with  some of the choristers pictured on the album cover still going strong with the choir today!
